"Capcom's polarizing new IP, Dragon's Dogma, was undoubtedly one of the most refreshing games ever created. It has a decent fan base--including me--and one of the reasons why the game can mesmerise a lot of people is that its world can be so immersive. That, and the fact that the combat is incredibly fun, a fantastic recipe for an RPG was created."

Gaming Trend: "Original owners clearly werent the primary target of Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen, hence it being released as a stand-alone title. The real target, for better or for worse, are brand new players who havent been introduced to Capcoms newest fantasy property. To those of you who love third person action and open-world exploration and who havent yet gone on a dragon-slaying quest, the answer is easy: this is a great buy that chances are you will not regret. Be sure to at least check out the online demo if you havent yet, and if you like it, pick this one up as soon as you can."

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Review - Fear The Reaper | Dealspwn

Dealspwn.com writes: "Death is your faithful companion beneath Bitterblack Isle. It's soaked into the very walls of the gothic demesne that ensnares your party, permeating the bones and bodies that litter the bleak labyrinth sprawling ahead of you. It glints in the eye of werewolves the size of people carriers who rip your pawns to tatty shreds, or cannibalistic necrophagous beasts gorging themselves on charnel. Death stalks you constantly, literally calling to you from the shadows, lashing out of every booby-trapped chest and dripping from the teeth of countless over-levelled horrors. At your lowest ebb, death itself appears to you as the grim reaper, a horrific persistent adversary who kills with a single touch and hounds your every step. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is out to kill you, but with enough patience and skill, you can bring death to its knees."

Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen is technically the best version of 2012s RPG, but the new content leaves something to be desired.
